pahkisimon

Please note that tickets are per vehicle not per person

pahkisimon There is no better way to welcome the dark sky than to celebrate pahkisimon, Cree for sunset. This FREE celebration will be held on the shores of Lake Annette, starting just before sunset with an indigenous storytelling event crafted by Teneil Whiskeyjack. A Plains Cree Indigenous woman from Saddle Lake First Nation. Teneil is a interdisciplinary artist, entrepreneur and mother. Her work stems from a Cree lens that is rooted in cultural practices and helps guides others into a creative process of artistic expressions through mediums like movement, performance art, acting, and healing modalities. As the sun sets, Teneil will guide us in saying goodnight to the sun and welcoming the night. Once the celebration has wrapped up, feel free to stay at Lake Annette to enjoy some of the best star-gazing in the area or head back into the Jasper townsite to take in the evening programs around town. Attendance is limited to the parking available on site.
